Contract obligation tracking and renewal alerts
Extract obligations, key dates, notice periods, and renewal terms from the contract estate into a tracked register, and alert owners ahead of every decision point.

reduction in value lost to missed contract dates
Opportunity assessment
Moderate impact. Meaningful cost or revenue improvement, likely noticeable at function level but modest relative to total business scale.
Relatively straightforward. Off-the-shelf tools handle the core task. Implementation is well-understood with good examples to follow.
Moderate data needs. Works with data most businesses hold, but will likely need consolidation, cleaning, or reformatting before use.
Low risk. Limited external exposure. A human reviews output before it reaches anyone outside the team.
Light people impact. A new tool slots into an existing workflow. Minimal training needed. Most people will adapt quickly.

Things to consider
Auto-renewal on unfavourable terms is one of the most common and least visible sources of avoidable cost in a mid-sized business. The alert needs to land ninety days before the notice deadline, not on it.
Extraction accuracy on dates and notice periods must be verified line by line for the first tranche. A register that is 90% accurate creates false confidence and is arguably worse than no register.
Finding all the contracts is harder than reading them. Contracts sit in email, shared drives, and personal folders — budget for the discovery exercise.
Experiment starter: Extract obligations from your fifty largest contracts by value, verify every date manually, and count how many renewal or notice dates were not already tracked anywhere. That count is the business case.

Contract review and clause risk flagging
Review inbound contracts against the company's playbook of acceptable positions, flagging non-standard clauses — liability caps, indemnities, termination, auto-renewal — with the preferred alternative wording.
NDA triage and standard-term approval
Automatically assess inbound NDAs against a pre-approved position, approve those that match, and escalate only the ones with material deviations, with the deviations highlighted.
Legal research and precedent summarisation
Summarise relevant legislation, regulator guidance, and internal precedent for a specific question, with citations, giving the in-house team a researched starting point rather than a blank page.
