Opportunity assessment
Minor improvement. Small efficiency gain with limited effect on overall turnover or bottom line.
Moderate effort. Requires configuration, prompt engineering, and testing. A capable team can get there but expect several months.
Moderate data needs. Works with data most businesses hold, but will likely need consolidation, cleaning, or reformatting before use.
Moderate risk. Some customer or external exposure. Errors create rework or reputational impact but are recoverable.
Light people impact. A new tool slots into an existing workflow. Minimal training needed. Most people will adapt quickly.

Things to consider
General-purpose models have produced fabricated case citations in real filings, with sanctions following. Use a tool grounded in a licensed legal corpus and require every citation to be opened and checked before use.
The saving is largely in reduced external counsel spend on questions that did not need a partner. Track which questions stop going out as the measure of value.
Internal precedent — your own past advice and positions — is often the most valuable and least organised source. Building that corpus is a prerequisite worth doing on its own merits.
Experiment starter: Take twenty questions your team sent to external counsel last year. Research each with a grounded tool and compare the answer and cost against the advice you received. Even three questions you could have handled internally pays for the pilot.

Contract review and clause risk flagging
Review inbound contracts against the company's playbook of acceptable positions, flagging non-standard clauses — liability caps, indemnities, termination, auto-renewal — with the preferred alternative wording.
NDA triage and standard-term approval
Automatically assess inbound NDAs against a pre-approved position, approve those that match, and escalate only the ones with material deviations, with the deviations highlighted.
Data subject access request processing
Locate, collate, and redact personal data across systems in response to a subject access request, producing a candidate response pack for the data protection officer to review and release.
