NDA triage and standard-term approval
Automatically assess inbound NDAs against a pre-approved position, approve those that match, and escalate only the ones with material deviations, with the deviations highlighted.

reduction in NDA turnaround time
Opportunity assessment
Minor improvement. Small efficiency gain with limited effect on overall turnover or bottom line.
Relatively straightforward. Off-the-shelf tools handle the core task. Implementation is well-understood with good examples to follow.
Light data requirements. Uses straightforward inputs — documents, product descriptions, customer records — that are usually accessible with minimal prep.
Moderate risk. Some customer or external exposure. Errors create rework or reputational impact but are recoverable.
Light people impact. A new tool slots into an existing workflow. Minimal training needed. Most people will adapt quickly.

Things to consider
NDAs are the ideal first legal automation: high volume, low variation, and a delay that irritates the business without protecting anyone. They are also low enough stakes that an occasional escalation costs nothing.
Define the auto-approve envelope narrowly and in writing — term length, governing law, mutuality, carve-outs. Anything outside it escalates, no exceptions and no partial judgment.
Keep an audit trail of every auto-approval with the version of the policy applied. If a dispute arises you need to show what rule was in force on that date.
Experiment starter: Run three months of past NDAs through the check in shadow mode. Measure what proportion would have been auto-approved and have a lawyer confirm each of those was genuinely within policy.

Contract review and clause risk flagging
Review inbound contracts against the company's playbook of acceptable positions, flagging non-standard clauses — liability caps, indemnities, termination, auto-renewal — with the preferred alternative wording.
Legal research and precedent summarisation
Summarise relevant legislation, regulator guidance, and internal precedent for a specific question, with citations, giving the in-house team a researched starting point rather than a blank page.
Data subject access request processing
Locate, collate, and redact personal data across systems in response to a subject access request, producing a candidate response pack for the data protection officer to review and release.
