Opportunity assessment

Business Impact
2

Minor improvement. Small efficiency gain with limited effect on overall turnover or bottom line.

Feasibility
4

Relatively straightforward. Off-the-shelf tools handle the core task. Implementation is well-understood with good examples to follow.

Data Readiness
4

Light data requirements. Uses straightforward inputs — documents, product descriptions, customer records — that are usually accessible with minimal prep.

Risk Exposure
4

Low risk. Limited external exposure. A human reviews output before it reaches anyone outside the team.

Change Complexity
4

Light people impact. A new tool slots into an existing workflow. Minimal training needed. Most people will adapt quickly.

Things to consider

  • Panels skew towards people who like your brand enough to join a panel. The model will faithfully summarise that bias — say so in the output rather than letting a favourable synthesis read as a market verdict.

  • Attribute-level extraction is more useful than sentiment. 'Fourteen of forty testers mentioned the collar' is actionable; 'broadly positive' is not.

  • Keep verbatim quotes attached to each theme. Product teams argue with summaries and act on quotes.

  • Experiment starter: Re-analyse the last three completed consumer tests. Have the model produce the themes, then compare against the insight team's original report. Anything the model found that the report missed is your evidence for running it live.
