Opportunity assessment
Negligible commercial impact. Saves time at the margins but won't move the needle on revenue or profit.
Very easy to implement. Ready-to-use tools exist. Can be up and running in days or weeks with minimal technical resource.
Minimal data complexity. Works with whatever is readily to hand. No special data infrastructure needed. Most businesses can start immediately.
Low risk. Limited external exposure. A human reviews output before it reaches anyone outside the team.
Very easy to absorb. Runs quietly in the background or gives people a helpful new input. Makes everyday work easier with almost no friction.

Things to consider
The AI summary must be reviewed by HR to ensure it doesn't inadvertently misstate policy. A simplified version that omits a critical exception could create liability.
Focus on the 10–15 policies managers need most frequently (absence, performance, disciplinary, flexible working) rather than summarising the entire policy library at once.
This is an excellent first AI project for an HR team — low risk, immediate value, and builds confidence with the technology.
Experiment starter: Take your three longest HR policies. Prompt an LLM to produce a one-page manager guide for each. Have HR review for accuracy and managers rate for usefulness. If both groups approve, roll out across the full policy set.
