Opportunity assessment
Negligible commercial impact. Saves time at the margins but won't move the needle on revenue or profit.
Very easy to implement. Ready-to-use tools exist. Can be up and running in days or weeks with minimal technical resource.
Light data requirements. Uses straightforward inputs — documents, product descriptions, customer records — that are usually accessible with minimal prep.
Low risk. Limited external exposure. A human reviews output before it reaches anyone outside the team.
Very easy to absorb. Runs quietly in the background or gives people a helpful new input. Makes everyday work easier with almost no friction.

Things to consider
Anonymity must be genuinely preserved — ensure the AI isn't processing data that could identify individuals, particularly in small teams.
Predefined theme categories produce more consistent analysis than asking the AI to invent its own themes. Define the framework first.
The analysis is valuable only if it informs action. Agree on what you'll do with the findings before you run the survey.
Consider whether the AI analysis will change what you do with the results or simply confirm what you already suspected. If the answer is 'confirm what we know', the value is in speed and consistency rather than new insight — still worth doing, but the business case is different.
Experiment starter: After the next survey round, run the free-text responses through an LLM with a predefined theme taxonomy alongside the manual thematic analysis the team would have done anyway. Measure time saved and whether the AI identified any themes the manual process missed.
