Fleet telematics and driver safety analysis
Analyse telematics data to identify risky driving patterns, coaching needs, and route or schedule design that is causing harsh braking, speeding, or fatigue.
15–30%
reduction in incident rate and fuel cost
Opportunity assessment
Minor improvement. Small efficiency gain with limited effect on overall turnover or bottom line.
Relatively straightforward. Off-the-shelf tools handle the core task. Implementation is well-understood with good examples to follow.
Moderate data needs. Works with data most businesses hold, but will likely need consolidation, cleaning, or reformatting before use.
Moderate risk. Some customer or external exposure. Errors create rework or reputational impact but are recoverable.
High people impact. Daily workflows change materially for a number of people. Training, communication, and active change management needed.

Things to consider
The events worth acting on cluster by route and schedule as much as by driver. Analyse both, or you will coach drivers for a problem created by the delivery window.
Driver monitoring is a significant employee relations issue and, done badly, an industrial relations one. Involve drivers and any recognised union in the design, and use the data for coaching rather than for discipline.
Insurance premiums and fuel are both directly affected, which usually gives a clearer financial case than the safety argument alone — though safety is the reason to do it.
Experiment starter: Analyse three months of telematics and identify the ten routes with the highest harsh-event rates. Investigate whether the cause is the route, the schedule, or the driver before designing any intervention.
