Operations & Compliance
Standard operating procedure drafting
Generate structured SOPs from process description inputs, existing notes, or expert interviews. Produces consistent format, clear step-by-step instructions, and defined responsibility for each step.
60–75%
reduction in SOP drafting time
Opportunity assessment
Negligible commercial impact. Saves time at the margins but won't move the needle on revenue or profit.
Very easy to implement. Ready-to-use tools exist. Can be up and running in days or weeks with minimal technical resource.
Minimal data complexity. Works with whatever is readily to hand. No special data infrastructure needed. Most businesses can start immediately.
Moderate risk. Some customer or external exposure. Errors create rework or reputational impact but are recoverable.
Light people impact. A new tool slots into an existing workflow. Minimal training needed. Most people will adapt quickly.

Things to consider
The AI structures and drafts from inputs — the process expert still needs to provide the substance. A poor briefing produces a well-formatted but operationally wrong SOP.
SOPs that govern safety or regulatory compliance require sign-off from the relevant competent person regardless of how they were drafted.
Use a standard SOP template so AI-generated documents are structurally consistent across the organisation — this makes version control and updates significantly easier.
SOPs are often created and then forgotten. The most common failure is investing in creation without establishing a review and maintenance cadence. Define who owns each SOP, when it was last reviewed, and what triggers an update before building the creation workflow.
Experiment starter: Select five processes that currently have no SOP or have SOPs that are significantly out of date. For each, conduct a 30-minute interview with the process expert and use an LLM to draft the SOP from the notes. Have the expert review and correct the draft. If the correction effort is less than the time it would have taken to write from scratch, formalise the interview-to-draft workflow.
