Warranty claim assessment automation
Assess warranty claims against product specifications, purchase dates, and claim history. Auto-approve clear-cut claims and route complex cases for human review with pre-populated assessment notes.
50–70%
reduction in warranty claim processing time
Opportunity assessment
Minor improvement. Small efficiency gain with limited effect on overall turnover or bottom line.
Moderate effort. Requires configuration, prompt engineering, and testing. A capable team can get there but expect several months.
Moderate data needs. Works with data most businesses hold, but will likely need consolidation, cleaning, or reformatting before use.
Moderate risk. Some customer or external exposure. Errors create rework or reputational impact but are recoverable.
Moderate people impact. Part of someone's working day changes. Requires training and some adjustment time, but roles remain broadly the same.
Tooling required
Things to consider
Warranty terms vary by product and supplier — the system needs access to the correct warranty specification for each product, not a generic policy.
Photo evidence assessment (damage verification) is possible with computer vision but adds complexity. Start with text-based claims and add image assessment later.
Track approval rates and claim costs before and after automation. If the auto-approval rate is significantly higher than the manual rate, your thresholds are too generous.
Experiment starter: Take 100 recent warranty claims and retrospectively run them through your proposed decision rules. Compare the automated decision against the actual human decision. If agreement exceeds 90% on clear-cut cases, pilot live automation for those case types.
